![]() Hitman 3 launches on 20th January for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC. It's probably best to finish everything in Hitman 2 first before carrying over your progression to Hitman 3. While you'll be able to perform the Hitman 2 progression carry over as many times as you like (once the tool goes live via developer IO's dedicated website), each time you do it, Hitman 3 progression is reset. I have learned a lot about what it takes to ship a game and Ive worked on a lot of new programming disciplines. As such, you may want to consider getting everything done in Hitman 2 itself before performing the carry over using the website (which doesn't appear to be live as yet). During my 5 years as a Programmer at IOI, I’ve worked on a large variety of different tasks from creating tools, developing new features for our audio system and adding multiplayer to HITMAN 2, to starting work on our new animation system. It's a welcome option, but should you choose to execute the Hitman 2 progression carry over, any progress you've made in Hitman 3 at that point will be overwritten. Upon choosing to carry over your progress from Hitman 2 into Hitman 3, you're presented with a message stating that “if you have previously played Hitman 2 on this console family, it's possible to perform a one-time carry over of your progression and unlocks to Hitman 3”. Hitman 3 will be out for everyone tomorrow, and while you'll presumably be making a beeline towards all of the new stuff, jumping straight onto the vertiginous rooftop of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, it's worth noting that the game's option to ‘carry over’ Hitman 2 progress into its Legacy missions, is not without a few caveats.
